The La Pobla de Montornès Living Nativity 2026 is one of Catalonia’s longest-established Christmas events, held continuously since 1976. Set in the natural surroundings of the chapel, this spoken, guided performance immerses visitors in the story. Check the times, ticketing system and parking information below.

The Experience: The tour guided by the Old Shepherd

This living nativity has a distinctive format: the Old Shepherd guides each group through the 15 main tableaux. The performance combines biblical scenes with Catalan folk traditions in a rustic setting of pine and carob trees around the Ermita de la Mare de Déu de Montornès.

Over recent decades, the organisation, managed by the Associació Pessebre Vivent, has improved the site with permanent period buildings and striking elements such as real flowing water in the washerwomen’s scene and a carefully positioned depiction of hell.

Times and dates of the Nativity scene in La Pobla de Montornès

  • Season schedule: It usually starts on the Sunday before Christmas (20 December) and extends until January 6, 2027 (Three Kings’ Day).
  • Session times: Performances start at 18:15 h. Several staggered sessions are held, each lasting approximately 40 minutes.
  • Limited capacity: To preserve the quality of the guided tour, each step is limited to a maximum of 150 people.

Tickets and prices: Online sale and ticket office

Advance purchase is recommended to secure your preferred time slot. The organisation applies a strict rule: online sales close at 16:00 h on the day of the performance. After that time, remaining tickets can only be purchased at the ticket office.

How to get there and parking at the chapel

The chapel is located one kilometer from the urban center. It is reached by the road **T-210** (junction with the N-340 between Creixell and Torredembarra) or via exit 32 of the AP-7.

  • Enabled areas: The organization has a **large parking area** around de l'chapel suitable for private cars and coaches (in the case of groups by bus, advance notice is required).
  • Assistance: You will find volunteers from the organization on the final stretch of the path for facilitate parking without difficulty.

Services and Gastronomy: Toast and heat from the stove

Upon arrival, the site offers a bar service and a souvenir area where you can enjoy the warmth of a wood stove. You will also find a traditional churreria outside.

The experience will culminate at the end of the tour, where you can taste the traditional grilled bread of firewood accompanied by a good sip of wine. If you prefer a more complete meal, the town center (approx 10-15 minutes on foot or 3 by car) has a good selection of bars and restaurants where you can dine after the performance.
