The Living Nativity of Seu d'Urgell 2026 is one of the proposals Alt Urgell's most unique Christmas parties. It stands out for its guided tour that runs through the interior of the historic center and the site of the unique Romanesque cathedral of Catalonia. The Experience: A monumental tour through the historic center

With more than a hundred actors and actresses, this nativity scene takes advantage of the architectural majesty of the Seu to offer a guided tour of approximately one hour. The starting point is always at the Sant Agustí Library, from where you go towards Carrer dels Canonges (full of businesses medieval), passing in front of the Episcopal Palace (Herod and the Romans) until reaching the most magical points: the birth at the Diocesan Museum, the scene of the monks inside the Cloisters of the Cathedral, the Temple in the church of Sant Miquel and the end in Parc del Cadí.

Times and performance dates

  • Key dates: The event is concentrated on the central weekends of the festivities of Christmas (usually the weekends before St. Stephen's Day and before New Year's Eve).
  • Pass system: The organisers schedule 3 daily sessions to guarantee the quality of the guided tour. The fixed times are at 18:00 h, 18:45 h and 19:30 h.
  • Limited capacity: Each pass admits a maximum of 250 people. Maximum prayer punctuality at the start of the route (Biblioteca Sant Agustí).

Tickets and prices (Snack included)

It is recommended to buy tickets in advance to ensure a place in the shift that suits you best. You can do so online through Codetickets or in person at the office of Tourism headquarters (Espai Ermengol building).

  • General admission (over 12 years old): €9. General admission includes a snack of grilled sausage and a cup of hot soup.
  • Children's Ticket (from 5 to 12 years): 5 €.
  • Free: Children up to 4 years included.

How to get there and strategic parking

  • How to get there: Access to La Seu d'Urgell is excellent via the C-14 road and the N-260 (Pyrenean axis). It is an ideal stop if you are on winter holidays in the area or on your way to Andorra.
  • Where to Park (Expert Advice): The historic center has streets closed during the event. The nearest, spacious and most practical place to leave your car is the designated parking in the area of Parc Olímpic del Segre (near the soccer field), located less than 5 minutes on foot before the starting point of the Library.

Gastronomy: Snacks and local offer

As indicated in the entry, the organization takes great care of the end of the route offering all attendees (with paid entry) a well-earned snack-meal of grilled sausage and hot soup, ideal for spending the Pyrenean cold in the fresh air.

In addition, since the nativity scene ends in the historic village itself (Parc del Cadí / Passeig Joan Brudieu), you will have at your disposalimmense range of bars, cafes and restaurants in Seu d'Urgell. The regional capital offers everything from tapas and dishes to high mountain gastronomy with cheeses from the area, so you'll have no shortage of great options if you want to sit down.
