The Maçanet de la Selva Living Nativity 2026 reaches its 42nd edition in the magical Can Garriga forest. Active since 1975, this Girona event stands out for its firm commitment to universal accessibility and for a temporary set rebuilt afresh each year. The Experience: The Forest of Can Garriga

A defining feature of this living nativity is that the entire set is built and dismantled every year, allowing new details to be added in each edition. The route through the Can Garriga forest features spoken, moving biblical scenes alongside traditional local crafts. The full route takes an estimated hour and a half at a leisurely pace.

Times and performance dates

  • Calendar: Performances tend to be grouped on the main festive dates. The calendar is expected to include 25, 26, 27 and 28 December 2026, along with the first days of the year (1, 3 and 4 January 2027).
  • Access strip: The event starts under the light of the torches at 18:30 h, with passages organized progressively, closing the last accesses around the 20:00 h.

100 % accessibility: A crib for everyone

Maçanet is a reference in terms of the adaptation of its natural space. It is one of the best options if you go with prams or people with reduced mobility.

  • No steps: The 0.5 km route is completely free of stairs. All the natural unevenness of the forest has been saved through cramps adapted

  • Location: The Bosc de Can Garriga is very close to the center of Maçanet de la Selva (Coordinates: 41°47'00.6"N 2°43'44.1"E). From the entrance to the municipality you will find the appropriate signage that it will take you directly to the venue.
  • Parking: The organization has a limited parking capacity. It is essential to respect your entry time to ensure the flow of vehicles.
