Prullans Living Nativity 2026
The Living Nativity of Prullans has the honor of being the only one celebrated in the region of Cerdanya. This event, with nearly two decades of history, transforms the old town of the population during the Pont de la Puríssima and fully coincides with the popular Artisan Fair, offering a complete mountain plan.
The experience: Haystacks, threshing floors and the old town
The representation (active since 2005) has the participation of more than a hundred residents of all ages. The great attraction of this Pyrenean nativity scene is how it takes advantage of the village's rural architecture: the route goes through old streets, opens the doors of private houses, historic buildings and old threshing barns, all centered on the surroundings of the Church of Sant Esteve.
The production combines moving and static scenes with traditional and period costumes. You can relive the Annunciation, the arrival of the Kings of the East and traditional crafts—and, of course, look for the caganer hidden in the scenery.
Times, dates and Nativity Fair (Pont de Desembre)
Prullans concentrates all its Christmas activity during the strong days at the beginning of the month to take advantage the influx of mountain tourism:
- Performance dates: The nativity scene is staged exclusively on days 6 and 7 of December.
- Pass times: The route opens in the afternoon, working through passes organized at 18:00 h and at 19:00 h.
- Artisan Fair attached: At the same time, in Plaça de la Cerdanya, the Nativity and Artisans Fair is held there (on the 6th and 7th it opens from 11am to 8pm, and on the 8th only in the morning until 2 p.m.).
Tickets and access recommendations
Under the organization of the town council and the Cultural and Civic Association of Prullans, the nativity scene has modernised access:
- Online sale: To avoid cold queues in the street, the organization is strongly committed to the online ticket sales through the usual regional platforms (such as portals linked to Panxing and the municipal website).
- Parking: The entire old town (around the church and the square) is occupied by the nativity scene and the fair. You will need to park in the designated areas at the town's entrances and be well warmed up, as the temperature plummets when the sun goes down in Cerdanya.
Gastronomy: Where to eat in Prullans
Once you have visited the nativity scene and after taking a tour of the craft stalls (where there are always the opportunity to have a bite to warm up), sitting down to a good meal at Prullans is an immense pleasure. Within the town itself you have several highly rated options:
- Arç Gastroteca Regenerativa (Carrer del Puig, 4): A space that combines an atmosphere fantastic with spectacular service to enjoy modern and conscious cuisine in Cerdanya.
- Local Social ca l'Antoni Prullans (Carrer del Puig, 17): With an excellent location, it is the ideal place to stop for a hearty breakfast in the morning or look for a good dish for lunch and meal.
- Fonda Martí (Carrer Major, 4): A reference if what you are looking for is homemade food and traditional from the Pyrenees, cooked over a slow fire and served with a very close and friendly attitude.
As these dates fall during a holiday weekend, booking a table several days in advance is almost essential throughout the region.
