Guide to Living Nativity Scenes in Catalonia

2026-2027 season

Sant Quintí de Mediona Living Nativity 2026

The Living nativity scene of Sant Quintí de Mediona (Alt Penedès) is one of the longest-established and best-known living nativities of the region, active since 1984. With more than four decades of history behind it, it offers an evocative walk full of tradition. We tell you everything you need to know to plan your visit

The experience: More than 30 scenes in the old town

The assembly makes perfect use of the town's architectural uniqueness. The route runs slowly through the cobbled streets of the old town, where they unfold thirty of scenes carefully worked

The representation harmoniously combines classical biblical scenes with traditional scenes recreating local trades of the area. The extras (with carefully chosen period and traditional costumes) bring the nativity scene to life accompanied by carefully chosen recorded music that envelops the entire route.

Opening dates and times

  • Holiday calendar: The organization concentrates all its efforts on the two main days of Catalan Christmas. Performances invariably take place on December 25 and 26.
  • Time slot: The itinerary opens its doors under the night lighting from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Tickets, access and the final gift

The management of the entrance to the site is very well organized, thinking especially about the enjoyment of families with rogue:

  • Starting point: The entrance to the route is officially made by the Enric Prat square of the Riba.
  • Popular rates: General admission for adults costs 5 €, while the children's ticket (up to 12 years) is from 3 €.
  • Hot broth and the Tió: The visit concludes in the best possible way. The organization offers all visitors a comforting taste of hot soup and toast, and there is one prepared Christmas uncle with surprise for the little ones.

Where to park and where to eat in town

As this is an event that occupies the old town, we recommend you look for parking in peripheral areas of the town center (such as the parking near Avinguda de Montserrat or the esplanades near Les Deus) and approach it by walking.

If you want to close the day of the 25th or 26th by having a meal in Sant Quintí, you have central and very authentic options during the two performance sessions:

  • L'Amagat Restaurant: A wonderful option located in the heart of the village. Ideal for sitting to enjoy an excellent meal in a cozy and elegant environment.
  • Bar-Restaurant El Jardí: A local classic on Carrer de Sant Antoni. Perfect for who look for a deal of a lifetime, food from the land and a very close and familiar atmosphere.

Given the dates so noted, we recommend calling well in advance to book a table any of the establishments in the area.
